There was a flood in Bangsapan in 2017 and the gold can be easily found along the riversides. The riversides were clouded by people who were panning for gold. The price was raised to 200,000 THB per 15 gram of gold.
The holy ceremony needs to be done before starting mining the gold. There are some beliefs that shoes are not allowed to be worn in the gold mine area, do not call others if the gold is found or the gold will not be found again and only small bottles are allow to collect the gold.
In present, Bansapan is the last and only one gold mining which is used the traditional wizdom to pan for gold in Thailand.
